2014 – Durango, CO

2014 Annual Conference, Durango, Colorado

The 61st Annual Meeting of the Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies will be held in Durango, CO on Wednesday, April 2nd, through Saturday, April 5th, 2014. The RMCLAS Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for scholars and graduate students to share original research on Latin America. The conference hotel will be the Historic Strater Hotel.

RMCLAS 2014 lodging and travel:

Besides the Strater Hotel, a block and a half up 7th Street and north on 2nd Avenue is the Rochester Hotel and Leland House (one property). The rate there is $119/night for double occupancy, but unlike the Strater many rooms at the Rochester have only one bed (king, queen, or full). Breakfast and parking are included in the rate. Call 970-385-1920 for the Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies rate.

Durango’s airport offers the standard array of rental car services and has one dedicated taxi, Durango Transportation. In addition, several local transport companies offer shared car services, vans, and suburbans to town. Our local tourism web site captures these options here.

We encourage presentations from all disciplines including, but not limited to, Anthropology, Archaeology, Art History, Cultural Studies, Economics, Environmental Studies, Ethnomusicology, Film Studies, Gender Studies, History, Linguistics, Literature, Political Science, and Sociology.
